8 Quick Apply Full-time 6 hours ago Full Job Description This is a highly independent professional position that administers and manages the City's Wastewater Treatment Facility; Public Access Reuse System; and Environmental Compliance Program, including the Industrial Pretreatment and Fats/Oils/Grease Prevention Program.
This position works under the direction of the Utilities Superintendent, and also assists in the administration of the wastewater collections system, and in the planning and project management of wastewater capital projects.

us/project/employment-opportunities/ The selected candidate for this position will provide leadership and guidance by providing long-range planning, organization, scheduling, staffing, information management and budget management for the wastewater division of the City of Tarpon Springs.
Key tasks for this position will include:
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations; Monitoring and planning for emerging environmental regulations; Assisting in the procurement of goods and services required for wastewater operations; Developing and administering annual operating budgets with utility management Developing and overseeing capital project plans; Recruiting, developing, and training wastewater operations staff; Implementing safety programs within the wastewater utility; Education:
Required--An Associate's degree in wastewater related, physical, and/or biological sciences, environmental studies, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
A Bachelor's degree in the same related fields preferred.
Experience:
Required - Five (5) or more years' increasingly responsible experience with wastewater utilities, including treatment facility, conveyance system, and environmental compliance program operation, administration, monitoring, and compliance.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience, particularly at the management level in wastewater operations preferred.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may qualify for this position.
