Human Resources Generalist

St. Luke?s Cataract and Laser Institute in Tarpon Springs, FL is recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist.? This position is for a candidate who will be a contributing HR team member whose focus will be to support our recruiting efforts in addition to our general HR needs. We are seeking an individual with strong people,?communication, and organizational skills, and with high attention to detail.


This world renown, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice has over?350 employees located in beautiful Tampa Bay, Florida.? St. Luke?s practices with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, while delivering on a long-standing reputation for excellence and outstanding patient care. In addition to our multi-specialty ophthalmology practice, our service lines include plastic surgery, aesthetic skin care, and hearing services.


Our home office is located in Tarpon Springs, with additional locations in Spring Hill, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Clearwater, and The Villages.

Responsibilities for this position will include the following:

  • Apply thorough knowledge of full-cycle recruiting such as creating job postings, sourcing, screening, and scheduling

  • Manage job postings; post all positions on internal and external sites, track expiration of postings

  • Identify new sources for candidates using creative methods for uncovering and attracting talent for difficult-to-fill positions

  • Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates

  • Manage and update the applicant tracking system for candidate progression

  • Complete initial phone screen of candidates, organize and facilitate interviews, obtain references

  • Create and own a positive candidate experience

  • Respond to routine recruitment-related questions from staff, candidates, and new hires

  • Build working relationships with staff and HR related to recruiting efforts

  • Follow up with hiring managers to ensure that they are informed regarding staffing efforts for their departments?

  • Manage and track Workers Compensation and FMLA


  • Previous experience and/or educational background in an HR

  • Healthcare recruiting and experience with talent acquisition software preferred

  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, social media management, and/or advertising preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Strong people skills

  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize

  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Professional demeanor, including ability to exhibit professional acumen to interact with senior leadership

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
